A silica-based barrier cream that creates the conditions a wound needs to heal, rather than trying to do the healing for it.
How it works
Zarasyl combines silica with the other properties of an optimal healing environment. It forms a barrier over open wounds and damaged skin, and it adheres well, which on a horse is half the problem solved.
- Moisturising. A moist environment has been shown to help wounds heal.
- Semi-occlusive. It lets oxygen through the barrier, and oxygen is vital to healing, so it protects without smothering.
- Silica. The third most common trace element in mammals, associated with healthy connective tissue growth.
- Sympathetic to skin, so it stays comfortable under a dressing or left open.
What to use it on
Cuts, abrasions, sores, wounds, skin ulcers and burns.
