A New Zealand-made powdered supplement that has been on shelves here for close to 30 years. The maker’s approach is nutritional rather than chemical, on the basis that a well-nourished animal is a less appealing host for fleas.
It is a supplement, not an insecticide. Use it alongside a flea programme rather than in place of one if you already have an infestation.
What’s in it
Yeast, garlic, wheatgerm, kelp, dolomite, ascorbic acid, lecithin, wheat bran and sulphur.
How to feed
- Cats, kittens, puppies and small to medium dogs — ½ to 1 teaspoon daily
- Large dogs — 1 dessertspoon daily
Sprinkle over wet or dry food, or rub it into the coat to be taken in during grooming. Also used for guinea pigs, rabbits, rats and chickens.
The formula contains garlic. If your dog or cat has a health condition, is on medication, or is pregnant, check with your vet before starting it.
