A household flea bomb that breaks the flea life cycle for 12 months.
Only about 5% of the fleas in an infestation are on the animal. The rest — eggs, larvae and pupae — are in the carpet, the bedding and the furniture, so treating the pet alone leaves the problem in place.
This uses pyriproxyfen, an insect growth regulator, so eggs and larvae never make it to adults. One canister covers up to 60 square metres. Made by Virbac.
How to use it
Vacuum thoroughly first — it brings pupae out of the carpet where the treatment can reach them. Then shut the windows, set the canister off in the middle of the room, and keep people and pets out for the time stated on the can. Air the room out properly before anyone comes back in.
Treat the pets at the same time, or the house will simply be reseeded.
